REPORT CUSTOMIZATION Step by step approach

    

Let us open our test database.

 

 

Copy the customization folder.

Open the folder and then open the customize folder.

 

Let us take a practical example to demonstrate it live.

Please customize 2 Report files similar to "Placement Report"(Consultants & Requirements), to show the SubType field display the text completely (May be I think you can wrap text). Currently if the SubType text size is long (Ex: 20 characters), it is not showing completely.

A)

Let us some knowledge on the report files.

Reports files are divided in to two parts.

1.       Design part (VSRPT.XML)

2.       Filters (CBORPT.XML)

Design file consists of report design part and this automatically gets updated by View8 tool.

Note: There is no tool to design the Filters File; we have to do it manually by opening it in a notepad.

Copy the following files and rename them

Copy the VSRPT file name “CBOCustomVSRpt.xml” and open the CBORPT file in WordPad and update in it and save the file.

Also change the report Category name and ID name as the following image.

Phase I

Now open the View8 application and open the current VSRPT file.

Note: If you don’t have the View8 Tool then please download it from the following link and install it.

When we open the VSRPT file, delete all the other reports which you don’t want (For Ex: Here we want Placements Status Report Consultant).

Here we want another report also which is there in the RequirementsVSRPT File.

Open View8 one more time separately and open the “RequirementsVSRpt.xml”.

 

Select the required report and click on copy. Now come back to the previous View8 and paste it and save the file.

 

 

Phase II

Open the current CBORPT file ("CBOCustomVSRpt.xml") in a wordpad.

In the CBORPT file delete all the filters other that “Placements Status Report Consultant”.

Note:  Report starts tag      <Report> and end tag is    </Report>

 

      

 

Now open the “RequirementsCBORpt.xml” and copy the filter “Placements Status Report Requirement” and place this in the “CBOCustomCBORpt.xml”.

 

 

Paste before the last line <Reports> in the file “CBOCustomCBORpt.xml” and save the file.

 

Also change the report caption for consultants – “Cons Placements Report” and Requirements – “Req Placements Report”

 

Let us open the reports in cBizOne (Tools->Reports) and we would find an additional Report Category “ConsReqCustom” under which you would have two custom placements reports.

 

 

 

      

Let us check if the Custom Reports are running fine or hitting an ERROR.

Now let us recall the client requirement for his report customization.

To do the above go back to the current VSRPT file opend in the View8 and select the file right side and click on the design.

 

Now adjust the SubType field in the GUI.

 

Double Click on the page properties. Change as following:

 

Save the file and check in cBizOne.

Do the above same steps for the other report.
